Make habit of using new Indian Rupee symbol

  1. not advisable to use an image for the symbol till a unicode version is available. :)

    and i am hoping that they would use this ₨

  2. Yes, you are right Sushubh. Image can never provide comfort of posting like we get in for symbols $ or £. But I have seen that many websites have starting using Image for Rupee symbol. So I thought its good idea to use this image in posting at forums. Lets hope we get unicode version soon.

  3. Actually, I believe the code is starting to be available. Not completely sure, but recvd an email the other day on how to go about adding it to the fonts in Windows. Also noticed that some of the Indian companies are now using the symbol in their quarterly earnings report (think it was either Reliance or Bharti Airtel)

  4. @AV, ya me too seen many Adverts have new symbol for Rupee. Also for NDTV I have seen they use new symbol in their news ticker. Lets hope unicode symbol is out soon for Rupee symbol.
    But my image code was for posting on forums which I am member of.
